Ownersbox is a fantasy sports operator, providing online fantasy league games to players across Canada and 36 States and DC in the United States.
Ownersbox provides players the opportunity to play for daily or weekly prizes in fantasy leagues across the NFL, MLB, NBA and the NHL.
Ownersbox were using Sendgrid, Pushwhoosh and an external BI tool to communicate with their players across email and push notifications.
The problem was none of the technologies talked to each other very effectively and there were persistent compatibility issues that hampered performance. As a result functionality like automation wasn’t an option, making communications with their players very manual and time consuming.
It also limited Ownersbox’s ability to create and deploy the personalised experience or targeted promotions that fantasy sports players look for.

The Xtremepush platform was able to support Ownersbox in a number of key ways, enabling them to enhance both their communications and player experience.
By using Xtremepush’s customer engagement platform with its built-in CDP, Ownersbox were able to consolidate their player data to create detailed Single Customer Views and segment them into buckets to allow for hyper-personalised communications.
Equipped with this segmented database, Xtremepush’s customer engagement platform allowed Ownersbox to create strategic multistage email and push NFL campaigns using XP’s baked-in journey planner to nurture players, drive engagement and increase interactions.
The conditional logic built into the journey planner also helped Ownersbox to close the loop on players who failed verification. Ownersbox now has established processes that allows their contact team to mop up these players, improving the customer experience and increasing signups, whereas in the past these players would have fallen through the cracks.
Deploying Xtremepush has allowed Ownersbox to significantly improve engagement with an all time open rate of 33.69% across their email campaigns.
This has resulted in a significant increase across registrations, depositors, contest entries and a reduction in failed verifications, converting them to verified users.
They have also seen a significant uplift in signups and deposits have increased by 50% going into the NFL 2023 season.
